Galleria Huuto’s autumn 2026 programme includes three international projects:
Exhibition exchange with Warsaw-based Galerie Pracownia Wschodnia
In August, artists from the artist-run art centre Pracownia Wschodnia will come to Huuto to install the exhibition I’m Thinking of You. The exhibition will be open from 27 August to 20 September 2026.
Huuto’s member artists, in turn, will present an exhibition at Galeria Pracownia Wschodnia in February 2027.
Loitsuja – Conjuros at the Finnish Institute in Madrid
An exhibition by a group of Galleria Huuto’s member artists, Loitsuja – Conjuros, will be on display at the gallery of the Finnish Institute in Madrid from 10 September to 22 October 2026.
The participating artists are Jesse Avdeikov, Satu Rautiainen, Sirkku Rosi, Minna Suoniemi and Rose-Mari Torpo. The exhibition explores spells and incantations, witchcraft reaching from northern soil into the present day, everyday superstitions and rituals. The exhibition is part of the Madrid Gallery Weekend programme.
SWAB Barcelona
Huuto artists Timo Tähkänen and Siiri Pohjolainen will participate in the SWAB Barcelona Art Fair from 8 to 11 October 2026.
Galleria Huuto’s theme at the fair is talkoot – the Finnish tradition of collective voluntary work, which lies at the heart of Huuto’s way of working. At the fair, the Finnish concept of talkoot will be explored through Timo Tähkänen’s performance and workshop, as well as Siiri Pohjolainen’s performance-workshop.
